The Truth About Vaccinations

There is a word that I think will fit this argument very well, that word is causation. With the creation of vaccines for numerous diseases, bringing the elimination of diseases like measles and polio. billions live worry free of dying any moment. The only thing illness wise I have to fear is if I will catch a cold and have to stay home from school. As this video by Its Ok To Be Smart  describes in the past scurvy killed thousands until it was ended drastically eliminated in 1747 with the realization that citrus could basically cure it entirely. Almost a hundred and fifty years later people no longer had faith in citrus and forgot how to cure scurvy entirely, causing a reoccurrence and uprising in scurvy's rain of terror.

This same situation is occurring with modern vaccinations. For years diseases that once ruined numerous lives have been little more than an afterthought. In the last couple years some have begun to refuse vaccinations fearing unsupported accusations of adverse affects vaccinations can have as well as a denial that they are necessary. These people are putting not just themselves and their kids in danger, but put everyone else around them in danger. Vaccinations prevent these illnesses and decrease the chance of it spreading but once someone is sick they can spread it to anyone around them and a disease like measles is nearly nine times as infective as something like ebola. If we forget about these diseases and forget what these simple pricks of a needle do for us then we may return to the widespread epidemics that once plagued our world. Sometimes people or new ideas can be convincing but if you look towards popular opinion and the cause that is vaccines and the effect that is a healthy world there isn't much to debate that the world is better off with vaccinations.
